Does Best Buy have a program to support K-12 Schools?
Yes. The Best Buy Teach Award program was created to specifically recognize and reward schools that are integrating interactive technology into the curriculum.
In the past four years Best Buy has donated nearly $14 million in Teach Awards to over 5,000 K-12 schools across the country. Selected schools demonstrate that their students are using technology in interactive and engaging ways. Teach Awards are intended to help schools purchase technology products to expand or enhance the program described in their application.

How do I know if my school is eligible to apply for a Best Buy Teach Award?
All accredited, nonprofit K-12 public, private, parochial and charter schools within 50 miles of a U.S. Best Buy store are eligible to apply. Home Schools, pre-Kindergarten programs, after-school programs, colleges, universities and vocational schools are not eligible.
The Best Buy store locator says my school is more than 50 miles away, but I can get their in fewer miles, can I apply?
No. Best Buy measures and verifies distances based on the information found with the Best Buy Store locator. All other measurements are not considered.
How do I apply for a Best Buy Teach Award?
Applications are available online at www.BestBuy.com/teach. All applications must be completed and submitted online between July and September. Winners are announced in February.
Can more than one teacher from our school apply for a Best Buy Teach Award?
Yes. Schools my have multiple teachers submit applications. However, awards will be limited to one per school.
What will my school win if we receive a Best Buy Teach Award?
There are 3 different award levels.
Level 1 – 1,300 K-12 schools will win a $2,000 Best Buy Gift Card
Level 2 – 50 K-12 schools will win $10,000 in Best Buy Gift Cards
Level 3 – 8 School districts will win a $100,000 Best Buy Spending Account
Do the items purchased with the Best Buy Teach Award belong to the school?
Yes. All awards and the products purchased with the award are intended to benefit the school and the students at that school, and therefore should remain school property.
How will I know if my school has been selected to receive a Best Buy Teach Award?
Best Buy Teach Award-winning schools will be posted online at www.BestBuy.com/teach in February. Due to the volume of applicants, all information will be shared via the website; no phone calls please.
How do I claim my Best Buy Teach Award if I win?
All awards will be shipped via UPS to the school and are addressed to the teacher and principal of the school. An email will be sent to the teacher and principal with the UPS tracking number so you can watch for it at your school.
I was a Best Buy Teach Award winner and I lost my Best Buy Teach Award, what should I do?
Please send an email to Teach@BestBuy.com with your school name and name of the winning teacher. Although Best Buy can not be responsible for lost or stolen gift cards we will do our best to help you replace your card.
Our school has received a Best Buy Teach Award in the past, can we win again?
Yes. Schools that have received awards in the past are eligible to apply. Please note that only one Best Buy Teach Award will be awarded per school per year.
