Our Foundation
Best Buy Children's Foundation supports and strengthens communities by contributing to a variety of organizations and programs that foster engaged, fun learning experiences for children through the use of interactive technology.
What We Do Fund
The majority of funded proposals are initiated by the Foundation. However, we are interested in learning about existing and emerging national programs that creatively use interactive technology to make learning a fun and engaging experience for children.
All grant-seeking organizations must be a certified 501(c)(3).

National program
- Must serve a national audience
- Must have a national distribution plan in place
- Must have national partnerships in place

Twin Cities, MN
The Best Buy corporate headquarters resides in Richfield, Minnesota; just outside of Minneapolis. The Twin Cities Fund considers proposals from nonprofit organizations that:
- Serve a Twin Cities audience
- Support programs that enlighten and
empower kids through technology inspired
learning
- Add to the vibrancy of the Twin
Cities area
Grants are administered and evaluated on
an annual basis. Support for continuing
programs not to exceed 5 years.

Twin Cities grant applications to the Best Buy Children Foundation are reviewed on a quarterly basis, with the following application deadlines.
- November 1
- February 1
- May 1
- August 1
What We Do Not Fund
Best Buy Children's Foundations does not make grant to:
- Organizations that are not tax-exempt under paragraph 501(c)(3) of the U.S. IRS Code
- Fraternal organizations or social clubs
- Units of government or quasi-governmental agencies
- Labor organizations or political campaigns
- Organizations designed primarily for lobbying
- For-profit organizations or travel programs
- Fundraising dinners, testimonials, conferences or similar events
- Sole support of operating or advertising expenses
- Individual requests for aid
- Religious organizations for religious purposes
- Health, recreation, therapeutic programs or living subsidies
- Athletic teams or events
